Project for Cabeza Patatas: Exploring Paintify

I had the awesome chance to work with Cabeza Patatas on a really fun project, putting their new texture set, Paintify, to the test. I took charge of everything—character and environment design, rigging, character animation, lighting, and rendering—basically the whole deal.

For the design, I kept things clean and simple so the textures could really pop. The idea and aesthetic were inspired by that perfect Mediterranean summer vibe—think sun-drenched days and warm nights. I wanted to bring a breezy, fresh feel to the story and the characters, playing with the contrast between daytime activities and the allure of a cozy evening.

The video itself is all about choosing between day and night, between breaking a sweat outdoors or kicking back and enjoying a delicious dinner. Personally, I’m more of a “why not both?” kind of person—maybe a little workout to feel good, then reward yourself with some great food. After all, life’s about balance, right? Paintify helped me create that balance visually, supporting both sides of the narrative without stealing the spotlight.

In the end, it was super satisfying to bring this project to life, combining simple design with a playful story—and a few mouth-watering meals!
