This project started as my entry for a Runway advertising challenge. The brief was simple: create a commercial around an everyday product.
My choice? Bookmarks.
The visual approach was built around two different worlds. Inside the book, I wanted everything to feel slightly removed from reality—a fantasy universe with a hyper-realistic 3D aesthetic, somewhere between cinematic animation and high-end video game imagery.
That heightened, larger-than-life world contrasts with the final reveal, when we step outside the fiction and meet the reader in the real world.
Because losing yourself in a good story is great.
Losing the page you were reading... not so much.

So... did we win?

Well, that will never happen.
A little post-awards scene with our heroes breaking character and revealing what was really happening behind the cameras.
Sometimes you win the prize. Sometimes you just have fun making the movie.

Too violent for the final cut
_
Some scenes simply didn't make it into the final film.
This one was considered slightly too violent and had to be censored.
We can confirm that no knights were harmed during production.
Probably.
